The Belleville Finance and Personnel Committee oversees financial operations of the Village of Belleville. This includes developing and submitting an itemized operating budget for all Village funds for discussion and approval by the Village Board, and overseeing that each department stays within the budget guidelines setup and approved by the Board. The committee also as necessary makes recommendations on borrowing, insurance needs for the Village, financial policies and statements, and long-term financial management plans.
The committee reviews all Village job descriptions, personnel policies and annual employee evaluations. It reviews finalists and recommends to Village Board hiring of all other positions. It investigates any matters relating to the village employees that cannot be resolved through Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer review. The committee is one of three standing committees.
